The Madera District Fair strives to meet the needs of the community by providing a venue that is fun, safe and family oriented, all the while promoting agriculture and community
Beginning in 2007, the Madera District Fair will embark on a commercial development project, marking the first phase towards a long awaited and much needed renovation of the grounds. The 70-year-old facility is in dire need of improvements such as infrastructure, landscaping and building renovations.
The commercial development project will utilize between 25 and 30 acres of the fairgrounds' retail space with a Lowe's home improvement store as the anchor tenant. The Madera District Fair Board awarded Newman Development Group the development contract for a 60-year lease for 28 acres for $925,000 for the first five years with a ten percent increase every five years.
