About
Named for the meandering creek that runs through the 95-acre ranch, Lazy Creek Vineyards is located a few miles west of Philo in Anderson Valley. A pleasant detour off Highway 128, LCV's narrow, dirt road overgrown with rambling bushes and ferns, towering redwoods and oak trees, opens onto a bucolic setting complete with rustic barn, cottages with its menagerie of animals, gardens, fruit trees and vineyards -- all welcoming visitors to this truly magical place. One of the oldest wineries in the valley, Lazy Creek is committed to sustainable growing practices and the small scale production of acclaimed Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer.
Spring 2012 marked the beginning for constructing a new winery facility, which replaces the aging wine fermentation area. The new 10,000 square foot building was designed in several smaller interconnected structures to keep the scale of the new and existing buildings consistent. To complement the existing structure, a native stone wainscot treatment with natural finished redwood batt and board siding is featured along with a shed roof porch made of heavy timber redwood and corrugated metal which serves as the entry to the new tasting room. The new winery building is adjacent to the 760-barrel underground cave that was completed in 2011. The cave is kept at a constant temperature and humidity level that is ideal for our delicate Pinot Noir.
