Layz S Ranch

Layz S Ranch is a family owned and operated, 300+ acre farm located in peaceful Fluvanna County, Virginia, about 15 miles southeast of Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.  We are dedicated to providing easily-accessible fresh, healthy, local food to our surrounding communities.

The unique way in which we do this is through our community supported agriculture, or CSA, program.  The CSA model has been around for years, but Greg first learned of it during a visit to Canada in 2007.  At that time, he was intrigued by this model of making farm-fresh produce accessible to the community, and thereby promoting healthy eating, and filed it away for future consideration.  

In the meantime, Greg worked with his brother Dan to establish the Health Nutz Fitness and Aquatics Center near Lake Monticello in Fluvanna County.  After getting the fitness center established, Greg realized that he much prefered to work outside rather than inside all day.  With this realization came the idea of starting a farm and that's how Layz S Ranch got its start.
