Our History
The first library in Lawndale was opened December 26, 1913 at the corner of Railroad Ave. and Market St. (Now Hawthorne Blvd. and 147th St.). It became one of the first branches of the Los Angeles County Public Library. The Lawndale library was relocated several times before it moved to its present location on March 23, 1957.
