About Us

Latham Memorial Library is one of five libraries in the Thetford area operating under the auspices of the Thetford Library Federation.  The federation also includes the Peabody Library, in Post Mills; Thetford Historical Society Library; Thetford Academy Library and Thetford Elementary School Library.  The Thetford Library Federation owns and covers the operating expenses of the building shared by the Latham Memorial Library and the Thetford Historical Society Library.

Founded in 1972, the Federation encourages the sharing of books by all five facilities, as well as programs appropriate to the patrons of each library.  A staggered purchasing schedule and distribution by the staff librarian ensures that new materials are available at all facilities

Latham Library is open Monday through Saturday and closed on holidays observed by town employees, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
