Lake Shaftsbury State Park is on an 84-acre parcel surrounding the small but picturesque Lake Shaftsbury. The area operated as a private campground/cabin resort before it became a state park in 1974. It has become a popular park facility in southwestern Vermont.
Facilities / Amenities
Lake Shaftsbury operates a group camping area with clusters of lean-to's and port-a-let facilities. Group camping is available throughout the year for scouts, church groups, and other organizations.
In addition to the group camping area, there is a fully furnished waterfront cottage with a deck and grill that comfortably sleeps six people.
ACTIVITIES
Group Camping: There are 15 lean-to sites available for group camping.
Hiking: The Healing Springs Nature Trail offers an easy hike around Lake Shaftsbury.
Swimming: There is a sandy beach in the day use area for swimmers.
Boating: Boats are welcome at the park. Kayaks, canoes and pedal boats are also available to rent through the park office.
Fishing: Rainbow trout, perch and panfish can be found in the waters of Lake Shaftsbury.
Picnicking: Plenty of great picnic locations plus an open-air pavilion that can be reserved for group functions.
Stand-up Padding Boarding: SUP's are available to rent.
