Lake Louise lures hikers and horseback riders to its trails, which wind through open meadows and lush hardwoods. It also provides bicyclists with access to the paved Shooting Star State Trail, which bisects the park. A historic dam impounds the Upper Iowa and Little Iowa River, allowing for great paddling, swimming and fishing on Lake Louise. In addition, visitors swim, boat, or fish in Lake Louise. Hiking and horseback riding are also popular sports at this park. The lakeside picnic grounds and beach area draws visitors in the summer.
