Lake Icaria has a modern marina with boat rentals, a l ¼ mile ski zone (No jet boats and jet skis allowed), excellent year-round fishing locations and a 300-foot sand beach for swimming with concessions and bathhouse. Walking and hiking trails cover six miles of natural Iowa beauty.
Lake Icaria has over 130 camper sites and 25 walk-in tent sites. Cabins are also available for rent.

Cabins at Lake Icaria
We have cabins and cottages,designed to provide a camping experience in which you do not need to pull a unit or pitch a tent.
14 log-style cabins are rustic getaways. They are sleeping cabins with an outdoor area facing the lake, 5 of the 14 cabins are handicap accessible and 6 of them are full service with a kitchenette and private shower/restrooms. Each cabin sleeps six and is equipped with beds, a fold-out couch, refrigerator, microwave, heater A/C unit, broom, mop, bucket, picnic tables, stand-up charcoal grill, fire pit and water hydrant. Price range $70 to $115 per night.
You can also find 2 large family style handicap accessible cottages with all the amenities of home... Over 1800 sq ft with 3 bedrooms (beds for 10), 2 bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen with an island and dishwasher, laundry, large dining table, 2 living areas with TVs, a fireplace, a game area, a very large covered deck, plus picnic tables, fire pit and standup grill outdoors. Prices are $1500 per week May thru September and $300 per night October thru April.
Camping at Lake Icaria
Two campgrounds on the south side of the lake: Timber Ridge (reserved or first-come, first-serve) is well shaded and surrounded by mature trees with direct trail access to the beach. Lake View (first-come, first-serve only) is surrounded by water on three sides with dock access. Our campgrounds offer full service, electric/water, electric and non-electric sites ranging in price $15 to $27 per night, playgrounds, dump stations, showers, restrooms and more.
Disc Golf at Lake Icaria
We have an 18 cage Disc Golf play area between the Marina and Beach. Test your skills with this family friendly activity as you enjoy the walk and views. Play any part of the course or take the challenge of the entire field.
Fishing at Lake Icaria
Lake Icaria has 650 acres of water teeming with large mouth bass (15" minimum length), walleye, bluegill, crappie, wipers and channel catfish. There are 5 mile per hour no wake zones for fishing. There are over 100 fishing structures which include brush piles, stake beds, rock piles and more. Fish from a boat, handicap fishing pier, numerous docks, one of many jetties or shoreline access is excellent. Fishing is a year round sport...don't forget the lake for ice fishing!
Hunting at Lake Icaria
The DNR and Adams County Conservation Board have established a permanent Canada Goose population at Lake Icaria. Check for refuge line boundaries. 1200 acres of land surrounding the lake provide hunting. Quail, dove, pheasants, deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel and waterfowl are major fall sports.
Picnicking at Lake Icaria
Lake Icaria offers many great locations for picnicking. Whether you're looking for a shelter (of which 4 are reservable), a grassy spot to spread out a blanket or a stand-up grill and table. We have many locations with lovely vistas to choose from. See facilities for reservable shelter info.

Trails & Hiking at Lake Icaria
Over 6 miles of trails to choose from. Travel through open prairie, over bridges and stairs through the timber or along the lake shore. Many areas for resting and viewing nature along the way.
Winter Activities at Lake Icaria
Ice fishing, hiking, hunting and year round cabins to rent are available at Lake Icaria in the winter.
