A sense of place kept the Kelton family in their grand Victorian townhouse for nearly 125 years. That attachment laid the foundation for a museum that features an extraordinary continuity of documents and furnishings associated with one Columbus family and their graceful, engaging way of life.
The Kelton House Museum & Garden, located in the East Town Street Historic District, interprets urban life and the decorative arts in Columbus, Ohio during the second half of the 19th century, largely through the collection of the Sophia and Fernando Cortez Kelton family.
Reflecting the culturally diverse nature of the past and present, Kelton House Museum & Garden preserves and develops its facility and collections, interprets local history, educates the community and trains volunteers. The Museum provides a tangible representation of the mission of the Junior League of Columbus, Inc."
