This library has a nice genealogical and local history collection that is growing all the time. Patron donations have added some excellent areas of interest that you wouldn't expect in a small county libarary in Arkansas, such as over 25 volumes of United Kingdom sources, especially Ireland.

Another source that is unique is the Vertical Files. Articles of genealogical and historical insterest have been clipped from many of the oldest extant county newspapers and laminated. Information available nowhere else can be found inthe obits, marriage, birth and reunion announcements as well as community happenings of this colletion.

Of course, the collection holds most, if not all, printed sources pertaining to Johnson County. histories, probate abstracts, tax lists, census indexes, burial records, marriage records indexes are included. Also, many school annuals have been donated.
