The Johnson County Family YMCA was founded in 1978 and manages a facility owned by the City of Buffalo, Wyoming. The Y serves an area of 4,174 square miles. Located in the county seat, the Y provides recreational and fitness opportunities to all Johnson County residents. The Y’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Y’s goal is to provide a supportive environment that encourages participants to respect and care for others, be honest in every endeavor and accept responsibility.

Assuring all residents access to Y’s resources and services is a primary objective. The Y realizes this objective by offering scholarships to approximately 13% of members and 10% of program participants. These scholarships assure that no one is turned away due to their inability to pay. This practice allows the Y to meet the ‘for all’ part of its mission in the community.
