About Us:
John Ward Park, built atop a decommissioned landfill, is more commonly known as ‘Rocket Park’ due to the large rocket shaped playground structure. The original rocket was installed in the late 1960’s. Since then, two additional playground structures have conserved the original rocket theme of the park. This 14-acre park serves as one of Anoka’s most heavily used community playfields for adult softball and youth football.
