J-Mar Stables

J-Mar Stables is a vast and beautiful 200+ acre farm located in Monkton Maryland. We offer a variety of services including lessons, boarding, summer camps, and fun times, which are described further in our various pages. It is convenient to Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Harford County, MD and York County, PA.

The farm is owned and operated by Susan Marshall. Mrs. Marshall is a Hunter/Jumper instructor and trainer with over 40 years of experience. She is greatly devoted to her work and cares about the horses and riders at the farm. Other instructors at the farm are Emily Posner and Jennifer Marshall Radebaugh. They are all described further in our lesson page.

J-Mar is a friendly and caring barn that is always trying to expand the knowledge of horses and riding.

J-Mar was founded in 1960 by Susan and Jack Marshall. Both Susan and Jack are still regularly active in everything that happens at the farm.

J-Mar is a public barn. We do not, however, offer trail rides to the public.
