Javon Bea Hospital–Rockton, formerly Rockford Memorial Hospital, is committed to serving the health care needs of the Rockford community. Since 2015, Mercyhealth has invested heavily in the future of the Mercyhealth Rockton Campus and the residents of the west side of Rockford. Investments and improvements include:

Orthopedic Center of Excellence: Mercyhealth is a regional referral center for orthopedics. Our $5 million investment in this new 22-room facility includes new imaging technology, two cast rooms, and a new waiting area. It is home to several orthopedic surgeons who specialize in a variety of treatments and surgeries, including sports medicine, joint replacement, hand surgery, and pediatric surgery.

Chemotherapy Infusion Center: Our $1 million expansion to the Mercyhealth Cancer Center–Rockton includes 10 additional rooms, more space for family members, a patient-friendly entrance, and decreased wait times.

Diagnostic Robotic Laboratory: Mercyhealth’s $1 million investment in state-of-the-art robotic laboratory equipment eases the burden on patients and produces faster results. Mercyhealth is the first Rockford hospital to use this type of equipment.

Expert staff at our Level II Emergency Trauma Center works side-by-side with local Emergency Medical Services providers and MD-1 emergency response physicians to treat individuals with serious injuries and illnesses. Our new, state-of-the-art helipad provides safe and efficient transfer of patients who arrive or leave via REACT air medical transport.

To address the growing shortage of qualified primary care physicians across the nation, Mercyhealth has developed Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residency programs in Rockford. Starting in the summer of 2019, our first class of residents will train at Javon Bea Hospital–Rockton.
