History of Jacobs’ Family Orchard

Jacobs’ Family Orchard has had three owners. The Ice Family started the orchard about 80 years ago. They eventually sold to the Andersons, who sold to Samantha and Wayne Jacobs, the current owners.

Wayne was raised on a nearby farm and remembers picking apples with his father in the very orchard he would end up owning one day. Both Samantha and Wayne are Purdue University graduates, with degrees in agriculture. They met while at Purdue. Wayne went on to become a grain buyer on the Farmers Elevator while Samantha is a successful Account Manager, representing JBS United, a successful feed supplier company.
