The Idaho Horror Film Festival is a non-profit international film exhibition whose mission is to shine a spotlight on Idaho’s emerging filmmakers. The genre of horror is the common thread that has stitched itself into the fabric of the filmmaking community. Through the mediums of independent film, food, music, literature and art, we strive to expand the cultural experience within Boise’s vibrant community. We aim to develop a supportive framework for Idaho’s emerging filmmakers with the mission of providing more access to resources and education for individuals wanting to explore the medium of film. By strengthening the film making community in Idaho, we will fan the flames of creativity and set Idaho’s film industry ablaze.

IHFF screens films in five categories; Feature Length, Animated, Shorts, Foreign and the “locals only” classification of Spud and Guts. This category is a no fee contest designed to promote our native filmmakers. The Idaho Horror Film Festival is the launch pad for Idaho filmmakers.

We are ready for the 5th Annual Idaho Horror Film Festival!  IHFF has received tremendous support from local businesses, active citizens and private donors.  Last year welcomed Andrienne King, filmmakers Izzy Lee, Deborah Voorhees and Special Effects Wizard, Mick Strawn to Boise. With the help of our educational partners: Boise State University, City of Boise Arts and History Department and Parkside Schools. More than 60 films screened during IHFF 2017, panels dedicated to Women in Film, Special Effects and epic networking opportunities for filmmakers helped make the festival our best yet!

The Idaho Horror Film Festival is pleased to announce that we have been awarded The Department of Arts & History grant for Fiscal Year 2019. Grants are reviewed by a panel and awarded based on quality, management, community accessibility, and budget—supporting projects that ultimately contribute toward making Boise a lasting, innovative, and vibrant city through arts and history.  We are honored to be in this group of esteemed colleagues and we are excited to be a part of Boise's thriving arts culture.
