Horsefly Brewing Company

Horsefly Brewing Company decided they wanted the name to represent something "local".  They couldn't spell Uncompahgre so they settled on Horsefly, which is a peak 10,000 feet high on the Uncompahgre Plateau west of Montrose.

In April of '09 Horsefly Brewing Company started brewing recipes and fine tuning them.  In May '09 construction began on the current location.  After lots of sweat and tears, (from watching the bar top drip on the floor) and with the help of a lot of friends and family, the doors finally opened September 9th, 2009.   09-09-09 was supposed to be lucky someone said.

In September of '10 the doors opened at our new & current location. This was a 4 month adventure into remodeling the building to suit as brewery.

All of us at Horsefly Brewing Companywould like to thank all the family and friends who helped make this happen.  From the plumbers, electricians, and IT/Co2/printer/newspaper guy, to the frequent taste testers, this wouldn't have been possible without your help.  We can't thank you enough.
