HoneyJack Meadery is a small father & son operated winery in Broomfield, Colorado. It began over a decade ago as Dan Bowron started to take an interest in home wine making. Dan started growing grapes in his back yard as well as his farm in Dove Creek, Colorado with intentions of making wine. After his first sip of mead he said to himself, Â "that's what I want to make!" He picked up a few carboys at the local home brew store and began crafting his recipes. His goal was to stay true to the old world style of mead making by vinting each batch in oak barrels from start to finish while only using the most simple of ingredients. Dan has slowly perfected the art of traditional mead making and last year (2009) made the leap in to full production for the public to enjoy.
HoneyJack is 100% all natural hand crafted honey wine fermented and aged in brand new oak barrels. We use Colorado wild flower honey blended with certified organic fruits to achieve a perfectly balanced mead. We never add artificial flavoring, nutrients, powdered acid, or chemicals to aid the fermentation. Our simple fermentation process takes much longer than most meaderys and requires daily attention but it's well worth the wait and hard work.
