Open Year Round
About Us:
Nestled in the beautiful Sierra Foothills in El Dorado County and Pleasant Valley, Holly's Hill Vineyards specializes in producing Rhone varietal wines. In fact, the estate vineyards are composed entirely of Rhone varieties including Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Counoise. The winery produces varietal wines, a dry Rosé, and red and white blends. The enthusiasm for Rhone varieties at Holly's Hill started when Tom and Holly Cooper (owners) shared their first bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape on their honeymoon. It's been a love affair ever since.
As the vineyard was being planted, their daughter got drawn to the idea of making wine. She learned the craft at a local winery and met another aspiring winemaker along the way. They not only fell for each other but with the idea of crafting Rhone varietal wines too. It's been a love affair ever since.
Holly's Hill is located just south of Placerville at 2700 feet in elevation in the Pleasant Valley region of El Dorado. The vineyards are planted exclusively to the varieties of France's Rhone Valley. Holly's daughter and son-in-law artfully craft small batches of distinctive wines from the carefully managed vines. A visit will ensure fine wines and a friendly atmosphere in the open, light-filled tasting room.
