The Henry Stambaugh Municipal Golf Course has been a long-standing attraction for the residents of Youngstown and surrounding communities for decades. The golf course was opened in 1923 and named after local industrialist and philanthropist Henry Stambaugh who donated the land on which the course was developed.
The golf course is the only course within the city limits offering 9 challenging holes of golf at below-market prices. The course features 3,420 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. The course rating is 35.0 and has a slope rating of 110.
The 1st hole at Stambaugh was chosen as the first of the Greatest Golf Holes in the Valley 2011 by vindy.com readers.
