About Us:

Allegheny County Park consisting of 629 acres. Preserved within the park is one of the largest and most spectacular country estates in the region. Hartwood consists of a stately Tudor Mansion (erected in 1929) cottage, stable complex and gate lodge (erected in 1927). Designed by Alfred Hopkins for John and Mary Flinn Lawrence, the mansion houses an excellent collection of original English and American antiques. Its 16th century architectural design affords both young and old opportunity to glimpse into a part of Pittsburgh's past.

Not surprisingly, a large part of Hartwood Acre's charm lies in its scenic setting. Reflect upon a time of elegance and style while strolling through the formal gardens.

Hike or horseback along its wooded trails or cross country ski depending on the season. Visit the farm and stable complex, appreciate the sculptures or see a concert under the stars.
