The cement plank boat ramp at this site provides small craft access to Harrisville Pond and the Clear River. The boat ramp is in a small cove off the river and the mouth of the cove has silted up quite a bit so especially at low water this area may be very shallow or even largely above water. This should not be a serious problem for canoes or kayaks but could present problems for larger boats.
Harrisville Pond is a small, 22-acre pond with a dam at the south end. This boat ramp is about 600 feet up the Clear River from the north end of the pond. The boat ramp is next to the Route 98 bridge over the Clear River and there is a gravel parking lot here for the ramp. This area is stocked with trout several times throughout the year.
The Clear River below Harrisville Pond can often be paddled in the spring when the river is high but it is a whitewater run suitable for skilled paddlers only. Paddlers who want to go down the Clear River below Harrisville should start at the put-in near the Harrisville library (see seperate listing).
This site provides access to the following water bodies in the Blackstone River watershed: Harrisville Pond, Clear River.
