Hand to Mouth Players, with over 35 years of continuous service, relocated to the present performance location at the Trinity Boscobel Church (Buchanan, NY) in the summer of 2001. HTM's goal is to entertain & involve the community, while maintaining their reputation for quality family entertainment. During the 2001-2002 season HTM staged "Regards to Broadway" a musical revue, Arsenic & Old Lace, "Vintage Radio Plays", and Playwrights Directors Workshop (which showcases original works). An American Anthem, a performance of historic readings and patriotic songs was performed, as a fund raiser for the World trade Center Relief Fund, at the Elks Club in January 2002 and HTM took part in the Peekskill Celebration 2002 program on August 3, 2002. HTM has performed at local libraries, & community events.

The Hand-To-Mouth Players began in 1967, performing originally at the Garrison Elementary School. We then moved to the Depot Theater in 1970, and resided there for over twenty-six years. In 1996 we moved to the VA Hospital Auditorium in Montrose and then in 2001 moved to our current location at the Trinity Boscobel Church in Buchanan. The group is dedicated to the promotion of cultural life in the community. A long-standing policy with us has been open auditions. This allows newcomers as well as seasoned performers the opportunity to "hit the boards". There are also plenty of opportunities for those who prefer to run the spotlight rather than be in it.

Our productions over the years have covered a wide range of theatrical 'styles', including Anything Goes, Come Blow Your Horn and A Piece Of My Heart. We are essentially a "shoestring operation" working, literally, "hand-to-mouth". The proceeds from one show are usually used to produce the next. Participants on stage and off volunteer their time. A longtime board member, the late Lester Bergman, put it best when he said; "The only pay they get is the fun they have!"
