The Hadley-Luzerne Public Library was established in 1968 to serve the residents of the towns of Hadley and Lake Luzerne. Special collections became established in 1970 with the Arthur J. Brown Craft Collection. The Adirondack Mountain Collection emphasizes the towns of Hadley and Lake Luzerne with some material pertaining to nearby towns located in Warren and Saratoga Counties. History materials date back from 1770 to the present and include personal and family paper; records of the Hadley-Luzerne historical Society; local churches, graveyards and businesses; Hadley-Luzerne Central School yearbooks; vertical files; scrapbooks; and photographs. Subject of particular interest include early settlers of Hadley and Lake Luzerne, the Civil War, artisans, history of the Hadley-Luzerne Library, and women.
