Mission Statement:

Our Mission is to build and operate a professional regional theatre of the highest standards, dedicated to producing works of superior quality by developing the creative skills and talents of the community, thereby significantly enhancing Gurnee's culture.

Our Vision:

Freedom of Expression

The 2001 vision of company founders Doug McDade and Mark Heller is for The Gurnee Theatre Company to become the premiere performing arts organization in the area.

It is their hope and dream that as a professional theatre, GTC will inspire and assist in the development of an arts oasis that bridges northeastern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin, creating an outlet for talent in all areas of the arts to share their gifts.

The beauty of theatre is that it embodies and encompasses all of the arts.

A theatrical production must always reflect the:

Visual Arts

- In the design and painting of the set, the costumes, and the lighting.

Music

- The melody of the dialogue, the tune of the mood, the harmony of the characters, the song of the story and the rhythm of its pace.

Performance of the artists

- The truthful interpretation and expression of the written word, composition of the score, movement of the body and creative images of the mind.
