About Us:
The Shelby County Historical Society, a 501c-3 Indiana not-for-profit corporation, operates the Louis H. and Lena Firn Grover Museum in Shelbyville, Ind.
The Society is headquartered at the Museum and the Museum serves as the focal point of local history. The Society uses the museum to obtain, preserve and exhibit historically significant artifacts. The Museum is the center of research and educational programs sponsored by the Society.
A local history museum preserving artifacts from Shelby County, IN history. 22,000 sq. ft. with 2 permanent exhibits (running trains in one) and 3 galleries that change throughout the year. Grover Gifts for shopping. No cost at the door to enter. Free root beer floats on the 3rd Saturday of each month from Noon-3.
Large meeting room for rent. Full kitchen. Fun and educational for all ages. Opened in 1981 and still going strong!!
