Green's Orchard

2722 Williams Drive
Stoughton, WI 53589

When we bought our 35 acres in 1977, it looked very different than it does today, consisting of primarily corn, soybeans, and tobacco fields. The soil was worn out and in need of restoration.

We spent a number of years building up the quality of the soil by planting beneficial crops like rye and rapeseed. Like many young farmers, we started growing fruits and vegetables by a trial-and-error process. We quickly realized that we needed additional guidance, turning to the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Agriculture Department as a resource.

Today we continue to work closely with the University, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) consultants, and federal agencies such as the National Resources Conservation Service, to continually improve our land and operations.
