Purpose:
Greenport Farmers Market is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including, for such purposes, the making distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future United States Internal Revenue law.
Objective:
The mission of Greenport Farmers Market is to create a place to educate, connect and support communities, agriculture and aquaculture.
The goals of the Greenport Farmers Market are to:
- Support regional sustainable producers, by providing them with direct access to consumers.
- Educate the public to the nutritional and economic benefits of buying locally grown food directly from farmers.
- Unite farmers, fishermen and communities.
