Our History:
Spring of 2016, a grass-roots committee of volunteers brought back Gray’s annual summer festival which debuted just 3 months later; we called it ‘End of Summer Fest’.
Spring of 2017, we rebranded our Town’s new summer festival as the ‘Gray Blueberry Festival – Celebrating Community & Culture’ to honor all the wild blueberry barrens/farms located in Gray and the surrounding towns – where youngsters once hand-picked wild Maine blueberries as their summer job. Every year since, we hear back from a few of these folks! We also started partnering with the Wild Blueberry Commission of Maine.
Spring of 2018, we started adding/sharing social media posts on the many health benefits of regularly eating wild Maine blueberries and on the importance of bees to pollinating our (nation’s) crops.
Spring of 2022, we went wild – rebranded our annual event as the ‘Gray Wild Blueberry Festival’, had an amazing new logo designed for us, and worked with University of Maine’s New Media Department to create this new, dedicated website for our Festival.
