Golconda Shrimp Festival

118 E. Main Street
Golconda, IL 62938

A "Shrimp Festival" may sound like a crazy celebration in a quaint river town in Southern Illinois but it is one you DO NOT want to miss! No, you won't find shrimp in the Ohio River, but what we do have are local and sustainably farmed shrimp (prawn) from Tanglefoot Ranch and lots of other festivities to enjoy.

Grover Webb, a native Pope County farmer with a thirst for pushing the norm, started the first Illinois shrimp farm in 2000. In 2001 Grover and Main Street Golconda partnered in an effort to promote Golconda and our county also while celebrating this unique farming venture.
