The first public library in Germantown, Wisconsin, opened in 1963. It was funded in part by a generous donation from Emma Duerrwaechter. Through the years, the Germantown Community Library has grown from a collection of 2,000 volumes to over 100,000 volumes! The Library Board of Trustees and Staff have worked diligently to offer the community materials and services in increasing number and scope.
