Gardner Public Library
Gardner Public Library is a public library affiliated with the library system that serves Wakefield, NE. The collection of the library contains 17,510 volumes. The library circulates 10,591 items per year. The library serves a population of 1,422 residents. Library activities include a summer reading program and Halloween and Christmas programs.
This community library is located adjacent to the downtown area. Design features provide a generous amount of natural light combined with an open flowing plan. A glass walled reading area focuses on a flower garden, and a central skylight serves as the focal point in the library area. The lobby/gallery will house an historic collection of frontier firearms and other artifacts. The facility also includes a community meeting room that seats 50 which can be rented.
