Friends of Upper Douglass Dog Park

27th Street
San Francisco, CA 94131

Friends of Upper Douglass Dog Park is a group of neighborhood residents dedicated to preserving and promoting safe, responsible, off-leash recreation for dogs and their guardians in the Dog Play Area of Upper Douglass Park. They organize and sponsor park activities, clean-up days, beautification projects, and act as liaison between the community of Dog Play Area users and the SF Department of Recreation & Parks in order to advocate improvements to the park.

They are now working on both ongoing fund raising efforts as well as special events at the park. The annual Dogtoberfest draws hundreds of participants, with judged events and prizes for canine costumes, obedience, tricks, and agility. Improvements to the park that the group has spearheaded include a kiosk, water fountain, and an upcoming restoration of the Dog Play Area.
