Friends of the Pima County Public Library are a group of avid library advocates dedicated to supporting and enhancing Library services and programs. Specifically, our mission is to support the library and promote literacy, raise funds to enhance library services and programs, encourage community involvement, promote love of reading and love of learning, and recirculate materials in environmentally responsible ways. The Friends of PCPL is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization founded in 1969 to raise funds for special and innovative library programs, equipment and services, which are not part of the normal annual budget. We accomplish this by raising funds through the sale of books, memberships, and grants. We have community book sales at our book barn at 2230 N. Country Club Road. We also sell books online year round and at retail spaces in fifteen libraries. Over the past 7 years, the Friends have provided over $1.5 million to The Pima County Public Library, making the acquisition and /or sponsorship of the following:  Summer Reading Program, Tucson Writer's Project, Project LIFT, Southwest Literature Project, Technology for Branches, Vehicles for outreach and servicing the branches, and hundreds of smaller and one-time projects. Please visit our Membership page to learn more about the benefits of becoming a Friend and the Donations and Volunteer pages to learn how you can help. Your donations of time and money will benefit present and future generations of library users.
