The Friends of the Altoona Library support programs and activities of the Library by raising money and volunteering their time. They hold a used book sale twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. Profits support programs and activities at the library. The Friends present the proceeds from their trust fund and money from their general fund to the Library each year for materials and programming. Last year the Friends donated over $30,000 to the Library. The Friends hold a Membership Tea in September with a presentation from a guest speaker. They also hold a Spring Tea. They also have various bus trips throughout the year. Membership drive is open all year.
