About Us:

The Friends of the Rusk County Library is a non-profit organization formed to promote the interests and welfare of the Rusk County Library. A major purpose of the Friends is to show the cities, towns, and communities of Rusk County that the library is a cultural and educational asset to be shared by all the citizens of the county.

The Friends of the Rusk County Library sponsors special events and projects to help support the library and its programs. The Friends' major project is Thundering Sneakers. This annual event features 5K and 10K races and a ½ mile Fun Run. Funds raised through Thundering Sneakers are used for special projects in the library. The 2004 event provided funds to purchase new furniture for the periodicals reading area.

Membership in the Friends of Rusk County Library is open to anyone interested in the purposes of this organization. The membership year coincides with the calendar year.
