Open: Year-Round
About
If you would have told us 10 years ago we would make wine in Washington, we would have laughed really hard over the glass of wine we were enjoying. We were both doing fine in corporate America enjoying careers that allowed us to work with really cool people, travel, and spend time with friends. On a trip back home to the Tri-Cities (Greg is a home grown Pasco boy), a friend encouraged us to visit Red Mountain. We were amazed with the views and found it a blessing and a pleasure to interact with the staff at the wineries. It was very peaceful and welcoming. The folks who worked and lived there took pride in the winery they were at and AVA.
We watched the sunset that evening and talked about our dreams, which included having a family, leaving a legacy for our family and having fun in this life...and watching sunsets more often. We also wanted to be closer to family. Since agriculture runs in the family, becoming a part of the wine industry seemed like a fit. After getting some wine education, speaking to winemakers and vineyard growers, we wanted in and to be a part of the Red Mountain community that greeted us so warmly. We knocked on dozens of doors asking property owners if they were interested in selling their property. We got a bunch of no's before we finally got a "let us think about it." We were blessed that the "let us think about it" turned in to a "yes, we'll sell". We purchased the property, which had a shop on it, that we converted to our winery. We appropriately named our winery Frichette Winery as our legacy and tribute to our family. We are proud to offer our first vintage, 2011 out of this special place on Red Mountain.
