Pawleys Island is the oldest seaside resort in America. The Founders Club at Pawleys Island began in 1966 as the Sea Gull Golf Club, which, as the fourth oldest golf course in the Myrtle Beach area, was one of the originals. There were no homes anywhere around it, and now we have 14 road crossings due to the surrounding housing development.
