In 1986-87, Jim won first place with his Pinot Noir in the Napa Town and Country Fair home winemaking division. This gave him the drive to plant a small Cabernet Vineyard in the back yard on Estee Avenue. Since then, the passion has grown to sixty acres between Napa and Lake County.
Diane is a Kindergarten teacher and is now very involved in all the facets of the family business from sales to assisting with tending the vineyards, managing sales meetings, bookkeeping, while teaching part time, Diane stays very busy.
At the inception of Fore Family Vineyards, the hope was that it would be a family business. At that stage, Melissa and Eric were too young to commit to that endeavor. Now that they are adults, they are able to bring their own skills and strengths to the family business and share the pleasures of wine.
