About Us

The Flat Rock Model Train Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of railroad history in our area. We are completely volunteer-run and managed.

Henry Ford originally brought the railroad to Flat Rock in the 1920’s when he consolidated and improved the lines. He built the dam across from the current “Depot” and also the Model T Headlamp Plant in Flat Rock. These are displayed to scale on the layout in addition to the DT&I Railroad story.
