About
In 2002, Dr. Don Weiss, an aspiring playwright and publish author had a vision: A theatre company dedicated to the development of local playwrights! He sought to create a theatrical platform for new, never been produced original plays by St. Louis area artists. He saw the importance of having a theatre company that allowed writers to "try-out" new productions in a supportive environment. Don Passed away in 2005. While he no longer with us, his vision lives on.
Since its inception, First Run Theatre has produced more than 120 full length plays and one-acts It has also grown to include our popular play festival, Spectrum. All of which have been written, directed, and staged by local St. Louis Talent.
With the generous assistance of the Regional Arts Commission and the Missouri Arts Council, First Run Theatre continues to strive as a haven for original works and collaborative talent.
