The Falmouth Historical Society's mission is to preserve, present, celebrate, and share the history of the Cape Cod town of Falmouth through collections, educational programs, interpretive exhibits and Museums on the Green. In accordance with its mission, the Falmouth Historical Society owns and operates Museums on the Green, located on a two-acre complex in the heart of historic Falmouth Village. Two 18th century houses showcase period furnishings, fine arts, handmade quilts and samplers. Special exhibits depict Falmouth's 19th century maritime industries, the practice of pre-Civil War medicine, and the life of Katharine Lee Bates, Falmouth-born author of "America the Beautiful."
