About Us:
FairWinds mountain Horses was established in 1997 by Bruce and Myra Addington. The goal of
the farm was for the promotion and breeding of the Rocky Mountain Horses. FairWinds has
become one of the premier breeding establishments in the industry.
The horses at FairWinds has been hand selected from the top producing Rocky Mountain Horse
bloodlines. This breed of horses are indigenous to Kentucky they were first bred in Eastern and
Central Kentucky. They were used as an all around family horse. Families used them for riding,
plowing the fields and driving the family to church on Sunday. There are several breeds used in
the development of the Mountain horse they include the Tennessee Walking Horse, American
Saddlebred, Morgan Horses, Paso Fino and Peruvian Paso. Mountain Horses are known for their
smooth 4 beat gait, their color and their gentle disposition. They have only in recent years been
advertised nationally, the breed has survived by word of mouth for years...proving how special
they are especially to the people who love them. We believe that these core traits are
irreplaceable, always striving to breed and produce the true Rocky Mountain Horse!
