About Us:

The Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts (ECPA) at Sacred Heart University offers a wide array of performing arts attractions throughout the year in its newly renovated and air-conditioned 776-seat auditorium. The Center is also available for rentals and community events.

The ECPA is now home to Connecticut’s only year-round professional theatre company solely dedicated to families, children and educators across the State. Working under the Actor’s Equity contract, the Edgerton offers a full season of shows for weekday school fieldtrips, as well as weekend shows for families. Other programs by ECPA and CFT include theatre arts classes, workshops, birthday parties and special events.

Since the 1986 opening of the ECPA, Sacred Heart University has generously shared this outstanding resource with the surrounding community, making professional-quality theatrical, musical and dance performances both affordable and accessible. James Earl Jones, Julie Harris and Dizzie Gillespie are just some of the outstanding artists to perform at the Edgerton Center over the years.

The ECPA Flexible Family Subscription Series features professionally-produced plays and musicals performed by New York actors and the team from Connecticut Family Theatre.
