Harry Eby had a vision to create an Evergreen Plantation. Now, more than three family generations have been caring for the trees and land leading to an 800 acre tree farm, with three quarters of a million trees. Eby’s is now the largest grower of Christmas trees in the state of Indiana.
In 1980, Eby’s won the Grand Champion Grower award from the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA) for its White Pine, which gave Eby’s the honor of providing a Christmas tree to the White House. Mrs. Carter was there to shake hands with Harry Eby and accept the 18’ Douglas Fir Tree.
Trees have also been provided many times for the Governor’s Mansion and the State Capital Rotunda building. From seedlings to harvested trees, fifty years of dedication has brought secrets of tree pruning and care that ensure the highest quality trees around.
