eba Theatre

About Us:

eba purchased this beautiful four story theater from the Daughters of the Eastern Star in 1977. Located on the Corner of Lark Street and Hudson Avenue in downtown Albany, the 13,500 square foot facility includes:

A 200 movable seat theater with a stage, on the second floor.

A 1,080 square foot studio, on the first floor.

One retail shop, on the street level.

Locker rooms with showers, offices, a kitchen, and  a costume shop and a caretakers apartment on the fourth floor.

The eba Theater is part of the fabric of the neighborhood. imageThe theater is the home of  Maude Baum and Company, everything but anchovies Dance Theatre,  Kids Dancspace @ eba,  eba Center for Dance and Fitness, and The eba Art Gallery. Beyond the resident companies, local artists use the facility for rehearsal and performances. eba sponsors invited artists on a regular basis. Lively, artistic activities bustle throughout the building from 8am until midnight. Community groups use the hall for performances, meetings, receptions; voting even takes place at the theater.
