The Easton Family YMCA began as the YMCA of Talbot County in 1954 operating out of an office at the Odd Fellows Building on South Washington Street, using schools and churches for activities. Eventually, the Y moved to the old St. Michales School on St. Mary's square in St. Michaels. In 1956, the Y moved to the old Calvary Methodist Church builidng on N.Washington street and was used for 10 years until it was destroyed to make the new Safeway Supermarket. In 1968, the Y opened in its current location which was planned, developed and funded by friends in the Talbot County Community with the ever present encouragement of Mrs. W Alton Jones, the gracious lady of Talbot County. The facility immediately became the focus of the community with a facility nearly unmatched by any other YMCA in a community the size of Easton. The facility was rennovated in 1981, 1997, 2001 and again in 2011 with the addition of the Thomas E. Hill Center for Youth Development.
