Eaglefire Winery & Vineyards started out as Caldwell Family Winery & Vineyards in 2010. That same year, after two years of producing wine as an amateur, Chris Caldwell, under the direction of winemaker Simon Payne, released his first commercial wine, a 100% off-dry Texas Muscat Blanc with fruit sourced from the award-winning Palacios Vineyards near Brenham, Texas. A few weeks after its release, this inaugural vintage was entered into the 2011 Houston Rodeo International Wine Competition where it won a gold medal and Texas Class and Reserve Class Champion honors. That same year, the winery launched its Bordeaux program, crushing 16 tons of Texas High Plains fruit from the famed Reddy Vineyards in Brownfield, Texas. Today, the winery produces about 1,000 cases of wine with plans to expand production to 2,500 cases in 2013.
Eaglefire Winery & Vineyards currently operates and produces its wine at Vintners Own Winery in Houston, Texas. This partnership with Vintners Own Winery provides us with access to the latest in winemaking technology and over thirty years of winemaking experience.
