Mission:

The mission statement of the Dorcheat Historical Association & Museum. in Minden, Louisiana..is to establish and promote a strong sense of community pride by preserving our past for our future generations. We will make our patrons aware of Webster Parish’s historical assets and significance by promoting, teaching, involving, and displaying history in many unique ways.

The museum, which opened in June 2008, uses the motto "Preserving Our Past for Our Future". It features American Indian and pioneer artifacts, including steamboating on Dorcheat Bayou, a log cabin, furniture, and clothing as well as material from the American Civil War era.
