Our Story:

The year was 2006. There was no fence between our home, and the neighbors behind us. As fate would have it, I built a friendship with my happy-go-lucky, tobacco-chewing neighbor. One day he told me about a "homemade wine" he liked to make. I didn't give it much thought, though, because I had never tasted a homemade wine that I liked.

One sunny summer day, about 2 o'clock in the afternoon I heard a knock on the back door. Upon opening the door, I discovered my friend, standing there with his regular chew of tobacco and a big smile on his face. His hands quickly extended up and toward me, clutching tightly to a mason jar, a jar that was so cold it was dripping with condensation. "I brought you some of my homemade wine man!," he said. Reaching out in a neighborly fashion, I took the jar from him and moved to place it in the refrigerator. "Naw man! You got to try it!" "Of course!," I replied in an obligatory kind of way.

I unscrewed the top of the jar, opened the kitchen cupboard and started for a wine glass when he said, "Naw man... You gotta drink it from the jar! You know, to get the full experience!" So... I lifted the ice-cold jar and took a sip. I'm pretty sure my eyes must've lit up a just little bit, "You made this.. at home?... You did this... at your house?" "Yep, Sure did!" he replied.

My background was in food manufacturing. In 2006, I started working on my own wine recipes. People would try it and say, "This is great!" It was a fun hobby.

One day, my wife and I were touring a winery when she sampled a tasty, luscious cherry wine. "This is the only wine I ever want, for the rest of my life," she stated. Obviously, that was a declaration that couldn't be ignored. The only problem: it was $40 a bottle. "I believe I can make a cherry wine," I thought to myself. So off to the kitchen I went and, after a few weeks of mixing and fermenting, the first batch of Cherry Bomb was ready. "These taste better than the other guy's wine!," she said.

After much consideration, a few sleepless nights, and a business plan in my head, I sold my house, and my Corvette and took all the money and began the process of building a winery in Pensacola Florida. Hence, De Luna Winery was born.

Since then, I've developed a few more De Luna Wine flavors: Strawberry Kiwi wine, Pomegranate wine and Blueberry wine. And more great flavors of De Luna wine are yet to come.

Whether you order online or pick up a bottle at your local grocery store, we stand behind the quality of our wine 100%. If you open a bottle and don't like what you taste, send the unused portion back to us. ... We'll drink it for you.
